Why Choose Pressure-Mounted Baby Safety Gates?

• Pressure-mounted baby safety gates are a popular choice because they are convenient, sturdy and easy to install, with no drilling required in suitable locations.
• Important: Always use the mounting cups supplied with your gate, as directed by the manufacturer.
• Dreambaby pressure-mounted gates include four mounting cups and double-sided adhesive tape. The mounting cups fit between the wall and the gate’s pressure spindles (tension knobs), helping to keep the gate correctly positioned.

• Once the gate is installed, tighten the pressure spindles into the mounting cups according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
• Allow the double-sided adhesive tape to bond for at least 24 hours before applying unnecessary pressure to the mounting cups.
• Always check that the gate is securely installed before use. Pressure-mounted gates should not be installed at the top of stairs.

Self-Adhesive Foam Strip

For extra-wide pressure-mounted baby gates fitted with extensions, I use self-adhesive foam strips as an additional support where appropriate, particularly on tiled or laminate floors.

The foam strip can help reduce movement at the bottom of the gate. It is an additional support only and does not replace the manufacturer’s required mounting hardware or installation instructions.

Additional Use: Clearance Above Banister Pole Bases

Foam strips may also be useful for providing clearance above the raised base or lip of a banister pole, provided the gate remains correctly supported and securely installed.

Additional Use: Clearance Above Skirting Boards

Foam strips may also help accommodate the quarter-round molding or raised edging found at the bottom of some skirting boards, without compromising the gate’s correct installation.

• The luminous tape provides a helpful visual reminder to step over the bottom bar, particularly at night. It does not eliminate the tripping hazard.
