Installation Instructions:
- This is an ADULT ONLY installation process. Please ensure all kiddo’s are being supervised by an informed caregiver and are not in the vicinity at all during the installation process.
- You will need 2 people to install.
To install the PVC you will need the following:
- A measuring tape.
- Heavy duty, sharp, kitchen scissors.
- A long ruler (thats over 61cm) or L-shape industrial ruler is the best to make a 90 degree straight line. Or you can just find something to use as a ruler.
- A black koki marker to draw the line before cutting – You can wipe this off later using methylated spirits.
- Methylated Spirits.
- Small side cutter (to cut the cable ties)
- A 30W Soldering Iron (to make/burn the holes where you need them, holes are required to mount the PVC sheet to the banister or balustrade)
- Cable Ties: white or black
- Bonded Washers (To finish it off nicely and support the PVC from the pressure of the cable ties)
- Kedla Flat Bars (Aluminium Flat Bars) for the top and bottom frame (Size: 2500 x 19mm)
Steps to install:
- Measure the area that you want to cover.
- Keep the PVC standing up when you cut, so you don’t scratch it on the floor.
- Make your mark with the koki pen and ruler and cut.
- Once cut to size, place the pvc sheeting on the banister/balustrade and use the soldering iron to make holes.
- Secure it on one side 1st. Use atleast 3 cable ties with bonded washers going down on the 1st pole. Top, middle and bottom.
Refer to reference photo below:
- The size of the holes should only be max 5mm for the cable tie to go through, and then loop it back again through the same hole.
- Repeat above pole to pole, with your installation partner pulling the PVC tight and flush as you burn holes and secure with cable ties.
- Now stand back and review your work, double checking that all cable ties are nice and tight and the PVC is straight and flush.
- Cut the excess tie part off the cable ties with a small side cutter or very sharp scissors.
- If the cable ties have a sharp edge where you cut them, burn the sharp point so they melt to a soft surface. This is to prevent the little one from any unnesary scratches.
- You are now ready to mount the Kedla bars (bottom, or top and bottom, depending on your look and budget.)
- Prepare these by sticking the double sided tape onto the aluminium bar. One side only.
- Remove the film completely so that the sticky side is exposed. Once these are ready you can place this in the correct position starting one side and keeping the other side lifted so you can press it down straight all the way.
- Depending on the length required (I just overlap the Kedla bars,) if there is too much wastage cut the Kedla bars to the correct size using an angle grinder with an aluminium disc.
- Now its time to clean up,
- Put away all tools, extra cable ties, bonded washers, etc in an already child-safe lockable cupboard and remember to dispose of any plastics (recycle if possible.)
- You are ALL DONE & DUSTED!!! Well done on taking this important first step in ensuring your child’s safety.

Sandra Holstner –
We were looking for a budget friendly option to prevent our toddler from climbing up our horizontal balustrades which is his favourite thing to do at the moment. This product has completely eliminated the stress and has changed his behaviour completely. He has become disinterested and can’t climb at all anymore. Would definitely recommend for parents who are having the same issue as we had.
Rene van Staden –
used this product for our puppy to close of the gaps on the horizontal balustrade at the top of the stairs along with a baby gate and its been very helpful and we now atleast have piece of mind. Thank you for advising us properly Michelle. Other options were so expensive and would have done exactly the same.

We are very happy with our purchase. The instructions on the website were very helpful to assist with the installation of the PVC Clear Sheeting for Banisters & Balustrades that we purchased.
